Winners of Oak Lawn Annual Fire and Public Safety Coloring Book Contest Announced
Marquette Bank helps sponsor local contest to promote Fire & Public Safety
Orland Park, IL (April 6, 2012) – Marquette Bank, a locally-owned neighborhood bank, participated in this year’s Oak Lawn Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Fire and Public Safety Coloring Book Contest which is a collaboration with the Oak Lawn Police and Fire Departments to encourage Public and Fire Safety. Marquette Bank donated a prize pack along with a Saving Match Certificate of $25 to each winner. Mayor Dave Heilmann, Fire Chief George Sheets and Police Chief Bill Villanova were on hand to award the students who won the Fire and Public Safety Coloring Contest. There were three winners in two categories: Fire Safety and Public Safety who each won a $25 gift certificate, in addition to the Marquette Bank prizes. Fire Safety Coloring Book Contest Winners: 1. Shannon Parks from St. Germaine School – 1st Place 2. Abigail Perry from St. Gerald School – 2nd Place 3. Claire Murphy from St. Catherine of Alexandria School – 3rd Place Public Safety Coloring Book Contest Winners: 1. Erin Gilmartin from St. Linus School – 1st Place 2. Ashley Drag from St. Linus School – 2nd Place 3. Danna Awawdeh from Columbus Manor School – 3rd Place The 1st place winners will have their drawings featured on the covers of next year’s Fire and Public Safety Coloring Book. Each year, 4,000 books are given to 1st through 4th grade students in Oak Lawn during Fire Prevention Week in October by the Oak Lawn Fire Department. “As a neighborhood bank, we are thrilled to work with the Chamber, Police and Fire Departments in Oak Lawn on this project,” said Joann Reiser, who manages the Marquette Bank at 8855 S.
